GOT HUNGER?

(Click on the picture to view, picture from www.thesharingway.org)

World Hunger is a constant problem which affects millions. I believe all citizens of the world should have the same basic needs met: clean water, food, shelter and proper sanitation. Hunger is an issue I feel passionate about because I think it does not have to exist in our world at this time in history. As I sit in an economically stable and thriving country, I see the waste of food and overindulgence that is prevalent. It does not seem to make sense that some have an unending supply of food and many do not have enough for one meal a day. I wish to see countries with an abundance share their bounty with countries that are in need. This will be my topic of the week.

We can sure be thankful for having food.
Yesterday my husband Angel got a message for help. Angel has a cousin, Ana, whose husband dumped her in Argentina. She is about my age and has 3 small kids, 2 have Down Syndrome. She can't work with her kids, can't pay babysitting. Government is giving her some help which makes her have to survive on $30 US dollars for a whole month. They're skin and bones. Angel was heart broken. We're sending her money now. But don't know how else to help her.

You have chosen a good topic.

It's doesn't feel good to have empty stomach most of the time. Some countries have so much food that what they are throwing away are actually enough to feed the poor nations. - It's such an unfair world, isn't it?

You know the sad part of all of this is they say that most of our land that should be use for agriculture and could feed the rest of the world is used as feed for animals which requires a huge amount of water and land. So while we feast on our steak that took quite a bit of resources someone would just like the basics foods to eat. If we were less selfish, then there would be less suffering around the world.
